United Nations Environment Programme, Finance Initiative, Banking Team

The United Nations Environment Programme, Finance Initiative, Banking Team is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Principles for Responsible Banking. Within this framework, signatory banks come together to make commitments, take action and report on their progress towards more positively impactful practices and policies.

My work centered on spearheading the development of the Commitment to Financial Health and Inclusion. I facilitated a conversation over several months among more than 30 global banks and civil society experts. By creating space for discussion and the engagement of a range of voices on a number of challenging issues, I supported the creation of an ambitious and purposeful element of the world’s foremost sustainable banking framework.

Liberation!

Liberation Foods is the UK’s only fair trade, farmer-owned nut company. It is a passionately purpose-driven organisation, dedicated to uplifting smallholder farmer cooperatives in Bolivia, Nicaragua, Burkina Faso, Malawi and India.

The organisation was looking for a refresh that would enable it to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive landscape. Creating space for conversation, and engaging with perspectives from across the organisation and key stakeholders, we were able to pull together insights that formed the basis for a re-articulation of the organisation's mission, purpose and direction. This in turn provided the groundwork for a full brand refresh, and revision of the value proposition, including the development of additional product lines.

British Beauty Council

The British Beauty Council, a membership organisation representing the voices of the industry, sought to set out a vision for collective action on  environmental and climate change issues.

We undertook interviews with key stakeholders and brought this together with research, and survey insight provided by Hubbub. The draft report was reviewed by a panel of over 40 industry experts as part of a consultation event. The final report, the Courage to Change was launched to a wide and positive response from the media and the beauty industry.

Alongside analysis, the report presented a number of recommendations, including the creation of the Sustainable Beauty Coalition.

Urdang Academy

Urdang Academy is a leading performing arts school with a well-founded reputation for its diversity and inclusion. Following expansion of its offer, and a recent University partnership, the Board challenged the leadership to outline a vision for where the organisation was going next.

Through workshops and facilitation sessions with the senior leadership, alumni and industry leaders, we created space for the senior leadership team to connect with each other and explore their ambitions and goals, and engage with ideas and perspectives from outside the organisation. We undertook a process of prioritisation that helped create a strategic framework to drive the organisation towards bold and exciting ideas, and ensure that Urdang continued to provide leadership in the industry and to provide opportunities for young people with talent, regardless of their background.
